Make your dreams come true, be yourself! It’s all over on the internet and on social media. Which
sounds great, but where do you start? How do you set and achieve your goals?
First, grab a pen and paper and start planning!
Identify the following: Where do you start? Where are you going? How will you get there?
- Take one step at a time! Be honest with yourself! What you may not have been able (willing)
to accomplish in years, you will not be able (willing) to accomplish in a week!
- Break down the big goal into smaller daily/weekly/monthly goals, routines!
- Set deadlines not only for your main goal, but also for your sub-goals! This will make it easier
to measure your progress and track where you are.
- Surround yourself with inspiring people!
- Look at your role models and see how they do it! Ask them what motivates them, how they
fit the necessary steps into their already busy schedule!
- Find yourself a partner! Whatever the goal, together, motivated by each other, everything is
always easier to achieve.
- Don't compare yourself to others! That is the most important thing! Just look at where you
started and where you are going.
- Do some self-reflection! What did you do that day? How did you feel about it? What were
your main thoughts? Acknowledge your successes!
- If it doesn't work, don't give up, try it another way! The path to your goal is not linear. Accept
this and prepare yourself mentally.
Im not selling a pig in a poke. You won't start every morning by saying I'm going to change the world
today. There will be challenges, and even days when you would want to take the easy way out and
give up. But, every day, you can take one small step closer to your dreams. Be persistent and
consistent!
In conclusion, and perhaps most importantly, setting goals is important not only because they move
us forward in life, but because on the way to achieving them we must become a person who is able
and willing to achieve them.
We must believe in ourselves, in our dreams, in their feasibility.
Do you believe in yourself?
